Within this blog I hope to give you a glimpse of things I eat worth mentioning during this 10 week journey into the Food in Film class. This entire journal is meant to be fun and hopefully open up some insight on my personality, my culture, and how I really think. I feel like these types of projects, although not common in college class instruction, can truly help students better understand what the class they are a part of is really all about.
What I hope to gain from this project is an exploration of how important food is to me. Not only this, I know that writing blogs about the food experiences I will come across will help me appreciate the culinary stature of those who cook for us.
I came to the realization that I genuinely enjoy cooking. The majority may see cooking for themselves and others as a daily routine, something they need to get out of the way just because college students don’t have much of a choice when it comes to “What’s for dinner?”. However, even if school work, midterms, and a full-time job devour most of my time, I seem to always find room to stir up something new for my meals.
I hope that I can approach this project casually. I feel it is important for me to express my individuality within these blog posts and pictures. And it is with this, I hope you, as a reader and observant, are able to get to enjoy my work.
Cheers,
Ivan Huang
